A moment of silence for those lost and injured in the Fort Knox, TX massacre.

OneCarolinaGirl :: A moment of silence for our countrymen and women in Fort Knox, TX
Our country and both military and civilian personnel, have suffered a severe loss on our own soil.  We all mourn the loss of those precious lives. I felt it was important for us all to have a place to come together and express our thoughts.

- Michael Grant Cahill, Spokane, Washington - a physician's assistant at Fort Hood;  Cahill is survived by his wife, Joleen, three children and grandson.

- Spc. Jason Dean Hunt, Tipton,Oklahoma - Spent his 21st birthday in Iraq, she said. He chose to re-enlist, dedicating the next six years to the military.  Hunt was recently married and was ready for his second deployment to Iraq.

- Sgt. Amy Krueger, Kiel, Wisconsin - 29 - was a high school athlete who joined the military after the September 11, 2001, attacks.  Krueger played for the high school basketball and softball teams and graduated in 1998, Talerico said.

- Pfc. Aaron Thomas Nemelka, West Jordan, Utah - graduated from high school and enlisted in the military in the same year-2008. He was set to deploy to Afghanistan in January.
Pfc. Michael Pearson, Bolingbrook, Illinois

-Michael Pearson, 21, enlisted in the Army more than a year ago to realize his musical dream. He hoped the military would be his path to college, where he could study musical theory. Pearson was scheduled to deploy either to Iraq or Afghanistan in January

-Francheska Velez, 21, lived the dream her father never realized.
Velez enlisted three years ago, an act her father Juan Guillermo Velez always wanted to accomplish. He had recently returned from Iraq and was transferred to Fort Hood last week.

-Kham Xiong, 23, was preparing for his first deployment since joining the Army. Xiong enlisted last year and was scheduled to deploy to Afghanistan in January. With another son serving in Afghanistan, the news of Kham Xiong's death is "hard on the family,". He was a father of three.

Officials also are releasing the names of the 38 people wounded.

Among them are Justin Johnson of Punta Gorda, Florida;
-George Stratton II of Post Falls, Idaho;
-Kimberly Munley, the Fort Hood police officer who returned fire   and halted the suspect;
-Nathan Hewitt of Lafayette, Indiana;
-Keara Bono of Independence, Missouri;
-Ray Saucedo, hometown unspecified;
-Spc. Grant Moxon of Lodi, Wisconsin;
-Amber Bahr of Random Lake, Wisconsin;
-Matthew Cooke, hometown unspecified;
-Staff Sgt. Joy Clark of Des Moines, Iowa;
-Pfc. Joey Foster of Ogden, Utah
